Scholarship |
Maintaing a high level of academic success is the top priority in the Greek community. Traditionally, the all-sorority grade point average is higher than the all-women's grade point average. Sororities offer a variety of academic assistance and support to their members. A great benefit of sororities are the programs they provide to their new members including required study hours and aid in selecting classes, professors, and schedules from other members. As a whole, there is a minimum grade point average to be maintained by each member, scholarship and recognition awards, and Greek honor societies. The Greek community at the University of Louisville creates an atmosphere where women are encouraged and assisted in maintaining a high level of academic excellence. Our Panhellenic Council was awarded with the University of Louisville's Spirit of Academics, as well as being recognized nationally for Sorority academics. |

Leadership |
The Panhellenic community offers many unique leadership opportunities through the Panhellenic Concil and individual chapters. Each chapter depends on women with outstanding talents and creativity to coordinate self-governing aspects of the organization. In addition, the Panhellenic Council is composed of many divisions that plan and coordinate events and activities for all students at the University of Louisville. As a Panhellenic community, we have a nationally recognized Sorority advisor and we received the University of Louisville's Spirit of Collaboration award. However, this is only the beginning of the leadership opportunities provided. Every year, Sorority women gain experience and leadership positions across campus. Sorority women govern many campus organizations. WIthin the Greek community leadership opportunities exist in the Panhellenic Council, Greek Week Committee, Fryberger Board plus many more! The Panhellenic community provides encouragment, assistance, and insight into leadership on the U of L campus. This is the perfect environment for developing and utilizing leadership skills that will be beneficial to you in the future.

Philanthropy |
The Panhellenic Council focuses efforts upon the advancement of the Louisville community. Through community service, all chapters donate a considerable amount of time and money to local and national charitable organizations. This is done by chapters through philanthropic events such as sports tournaments, skits, fundraisers, and volunteering. |

Sisterhood |
Moving away from home for the first time to attend college is exciting and difficult at the same time. Although you are enthused about embarking on a new part of your life full of opportunities and success, you will miss old friends and familiar faces. Through the involvement of the Greek system at U of L, the sorority you choose will become your new home away from home. The one asset of the sorority system that you will carry with you throughout your life is the friends that you will make. Becoming part of the Greek system at U of L means years of formals, socials, intramurals, sisterhood events, and much more!

Diversity |
Panhellenic Council is an organization geared toward uniting each individual sorority on campus in hopes of promoting a positive Greek spirit through various aspects of campus life such as academics, philanthropy, leadership, and social. Just as one chapter may be comprised of a variety of women, each sorority in the Panhellenic community is unique, too. We believe that our differences make us stronger, and that each individual chapter has specific talents and assets to contribute to Panhellenic as a whole.

Growth Plan |
With the growth of the University of Louisville, the Panhellenic community has made the decision to create plans for expansion. We hope to increase the number of Sorority chapters on campus, allowing Panhellenic Council to increase the number of leadership opportunities, social events, scholarships, service projects, and much more! Currently, our goal is to start taking steps towards establishing a new chapter if university growth continues on throughout the next three years. |
