Recruitment Kick Off
Friday, August 12
6pm - Red Barn
Come to the Recruitment Kick Off and enjoy free pizza while learning about Sorority Life and briefly visiting with the chapters. You will be introduced to the Recruitment Staff and become acquainted with your recruitment counselors(Gamma Chi's) and other women going through recruitment that are in your Gamma Chi group. Please feel free to bring your parents to this event! There will be a special parents session for them.
Dress: Casual
**Beginning Kick-Off day: The use of alcoholic beverages in recruitment is prohibited during the recruitment events or after the events have concluded for the day. The use of alcohol will be prohibited for 24 hours following bid distribution (or the beginning of the actual Bid Day) from Panhellenic Council.**
Finance Night
Saturday, August 13
2 pm- Greek Row
Potential members will visit all six Sororities. These parties begin at 2:00 pm and last 30 minutes each with 15 minute breaks in between. This is the time for first impressions, so relax, be yourself and smile! You will learn about the basics of each sorority and the financial obligations for each of the six sororites. The Panhellenic Council will serve a light meal for potential new members on this night.
Dress: Recruitment T-Shirt and casual shorts, skirts, etc.
Philanthropy Night
Sunday, August 14
3pm - Greek Row
The parties will begin at 3:00 pm and last 45 minutes each with 15 minute breaks in between. Potential members may have the opportunity to visit up to five chapters this night depending on the number of parties they are invited to. This night is designed to introduce potential members to a more serious side of Greek Life – Philanthropy. Each group has an individual charity or cause that their national organization sponsors. This evening will also be a lot of fun as you aid each Sorority with a philanthropy project.
Dress: Sundress, nice skirt and top, etc.
Leadership and Scholarship Night
Monday, August 15
3pm - Greek Row
The parties will begin at 3:00 pm and last for 45 minutes each with 15 minute breaks in between. Potential members can attend up to four parties this night, depending on the number of party invitations they receive. This night will allow the chapters to show their fun, energetic side with a theme and a skit as well as discuss scholarship and leadership, two of our important values.
Dress: Similar to Philanthropy night, nice skirt and top, sundress, etc.
Sisterhood Night
Tuesday, August 16
3pm -Greek Row
Preference parties will begin at 3 pm. Each party will last one hour and fifteen minutes with 20 minutes in between. This is the last round of Recruitment parties and potential members can visit up to two parties. Candlelight, songs and an entirely different look at the special bonds within each Sorority will accentuate these parties. Faces will seem more familiar, but there is a new atmosphere that says more than anything you have seen or heard before. Appetizers and desserts will be served.
Honors students might have a conflict this night with the Modes of Inquiry class. Panhellenic works closely with the Honors Program to ensure that all women are able to attend the preference parties.
Dress: Very nice dress, suit, very dressy skirt, etc. This is the dressiest night; black is usually worn.
Bid Day
Wednesday, August 17
4:00 pm - Greek Row and various locations
Congratulations! Membership bids will be distributed at approximately 4:00 pm at the Third Level of the Student Activities Center. This is the first day of a potential new member’s new sorority life. It is a very informal day. Each Sorority will have activities planned for you to meet your new member class as well as the members of your new Sorority.
Dress: Recruitment T-Shirt and casual shorts, skirts, etc.
**No alcohol is permitted to be consumed 24 hours after bids are distributed (3pm on Friday to 3pm on Saturday)**
