Recruitment Guidelines
In order to join a sorority, a woman must be a UofL student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and she must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 semester hours. UofL Metropolitan College Students may be enrolled in 9 hours.
Those who have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or lower on a 4.0 scale have a greatly reduced chance of receiving a bid. The average GPA of a woman who receives a bid is 3.1. Please realize that most sororities at UofL have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5 to be eligible to join their organization.
In order to receieve a bid from a sorority, every potential new member must attend every party she accepts an invitation to on each night, unless excused. She must visit all six chapters on the first night.
A potential new member may visit a sorority house/suite only at designated times set by the Panhellenic Council.
The signing of a preference card is binding for one year. If a potential new member does accept a bid from a sorority, she is not eligible to pledge any other sorority for one calendar year.
*Beginning on Kick Off day: The use of alcoholic beverages in recruitment is prohibited during the recruitment events or after the events have concluded for the day. The use of alcohol will be prohibited for 24 hours following bid distribution at 4pm from Panhellenic Council.

About The Sorority Life
The sorority life offers so much: friendship, leadership, service, social events and more! The sorority life is a home away from home for many young women. It is a place to grow and mature. It provides leadership development and philanthropic opportunities. Your sorority sisters become your support network. You can lean on them for help. You rely on them to get you through good times and bad. You support each other. And you change and grow to become a better person because of them. Being in a sorority is a positive life change that a collegiate woman can make. (Courtesy of The Sorority Life.)
