Gamma Chi's: Who They Are, How They Help
Some of the first sorority women you will meet and get to know at UofL will be your Gamma Chi's. Panhellenic Recruitment is ran by 20 Greek women who have disaffiliated from their sororities to help PNMs find their homes. The Recruitment Staff is made up of 4 of the Panhellenic EC Members(President, VP Recruitment, VP Finance, VP Internal) and 2 of the Panhellenic Cabinet Officers(Head Gamma Chi, Recruitment Assistant). The remaining women were chosen by the Panhellenic Executive Officers to assist, support, and counsel the women participating in Panhellenic Recruitment. Their role, in essence, is very much like a resident assistant (R.A.), except their focus is on all aspects of Panhellenic Recruitment 2010. Gamma Chi's are disaffiliated from their particular sororities during Recruitment so they can concentrate their time and attention on you. They give up their letters, their normal Facebook accounts, and a lot of time in the summer to prepare for potential new members going through Panhellenic Recruitment. Their goal is to ensure that women participating in Recruitment have a positive and fulfilling experience. Upon registration you will be assigned two Gamma Chi's. Your Gamma Chi's will be assigned to work with smaller groups of women during the entire recruitment period and will be available to answer your questions at any time. Since their sorority membership is unknown, potential new members should feel comfortable discussing their options and asking questions about Recruitment. The Gamma Chi's have been working hard to prepare for your arrival and look forward to meeting you in the very near future!!
